10 films you should watch this Christmas

    

    Christmas is the time of the year that we all want to spend time with our families and loved ones, in our houses, lying on the couch with the blankets and with a cup of hot chocolate, seeing as many of the Christmas films as possible. It doesn’t matter if it is a comedy, a romance, a traditional genre of movie, among others, for this holiday there are films for each, and every taste. Furthermore, we selected some Christmas films that we think you should watch. In fact, a few of them are classics that even if we already watched two or three times never lose the charm. With this said, here is our selection of movies for the most wonderful time of the year!

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas
This American Christmas comedy film was released in 2000. This film narrates the story of a green creature called Grinch which lives on the outskirts of Whoville. He absolutely hates Christmas. Hence, he plans on ruining the festive day for all the citizens in that town.


Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory
Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory it’s an American musical fantasy released in 1971. In this film, five kids find golden tickets which allows them to have a lifetime chocolate supply and a private tour in the strangest and mysterious chocolate factory in the world.



Love Actually
Love Actually is a romantic comedy film released in 2003. The film explores nine intertwined stories. These stories are all connected by one emotion: love. The storyline begins a few weeks before Christmas and ends one month later after the festive season.


Elf
Elf is an American Christmas fantasy comedy film released in 2003. The film recounts the story of Buddy who was raised by Elves. As a baby, he was in an orphanage and then accidentally sent to the North Pole. His wish is to find his birth father. Therefore, he travels to New York City dresses as an Elf to find him.



The cat in the hat
The cat in the hat is an American family comedy film released in 2003. In this film, two kids are left alone at home after their mum was called to come back to work. During that time, a weird and troublemaking cat shows up in their house. He helps the kid to have fun while their mum is out. However, by doing so they cause a big mess which has to be cleaned before their mum comes back. 


Home Alone
Home Alone is the classic Christmas film, at least one time each person must have seen this one. The plot is about a young boy, Kevin McCallister, that stays alone in his home after his family, in a rush to get to the airport to go on vacations for the Holiday, forgets about him. The story is hilarious, with this kid, that has such an exciting personality and interesting intelligence for his age, and his adventures, especially when what he thought to be a fantastic time turn out to be a possible dangerous period at the moment that he realizes that two men plan to rob the McCallister residence and that he alone must protect the family home.


The Holiday
This movie is a lovely romance. The two main characters had lost faith in love after two horrible failed relationships. On one side, Amanda Woods, from the United States, that is extremely addicted to her work, and on the other side Iris, from Britain, that is heartbroken and done with her life. They both decide that they don’t want to spend Christmas alone in their houses, so they swap homes for the holiday. However, love does not take vacations and they will find him in the most unexcepted way.


Johnny English
Who doesn’t love Jonny English? It is impossible to not laugh at this amazing comedy film. Jonny English is a mediocre spy whose mission is to stop the intentions of Pascal Sauvage, a villain that is trying to take control of Britain, in order to become King.


Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas
No matter how much of an adult you are, you are never too old to watch an animation family movie. Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas tells three adorable stories, namely "A Very Goofy Christmas", "Mickey and Minnie's Gift of the Magi."


'Twas the Night
Nick Wrigley is an irresponsible man that after seeing himself in some serious problems decides to run away to his brother's house. Although he is not well received by his brother, Danny welcomes his uncle with open arms, since he has a better relationship with him than any other person in his family. On Christmas Eve, Danny's parents are called to the hospital and reluctantly leave Nick to look after their three children. Subsequently, in the night, Santa Claus comes to the house with a device that can freeze time, in order to put the family's presents under the tree unnoticed, but Nick catches him and hits him unconscious. This way, both Nick and Danny decide to deliver Santa's presents.
