New Year’s Resolutions - JG

In my last post, I wrote about my 2017. Today, I want to share some of the goals I want to achieve next year. To be honest, I rarely write New Year’s Resolutions because I think that if you really want something you don’t need to wait for the next year to come. You can start fighting for your dreams right now.

However, I want to see if I’ll able to accomplish and stick to the resolutions. Without further due, here are my resolutions:

Stay healthy: I’m not thinking about doing crazy diets or taking pills to get skinnier. Instead, I will try to eat in a balanced way. Drink more water, eat more vegetables and fruits and eat less bread. Seriously, if it was up to me I would eat bread all the time for the rest of my life because I love it, but I know that it isn’t healthy.

Improve my mental health: I’ve always had problems with anxiety and self-esteem since I was a kid. However, this year I want to work on it in order to become a happier person. I want to love myself and accept all the little things that I don’t like about my body.

Be more grateful for the things I have: Sometimes I feel that I take some things for granted and that I don’t really appreciate the little things in my life. Therefore, I want to practise my gratefulness because I may not have a perfect life, but some people are in worse conditions than me.

Find out what I want to do with my life: At the moment, I am lost regarding what I want to do professionally in the future. I’m studying Media and Communication at uni but I don’t know what job I want to work in and this is scaring me a bit. So, next year I want to become more informed about some possible careers related to my course and be able to find my passion.

Find a part-time job: I was supposed to find a part-time job this year, but I’ve been a bit lazy. Next year, I must really find one. I can’t depend on my parents for the rest of my life.

Do volunteer work: I’ve always wanted to do volunteer work and I’ve already talked about this with my parents. It doesn’t have to be something hard like going to another country to help build schools. As long as it is something that can make a difference then that’s fine for me.

Continue studying and learning new languages: I love learning new languages and I want to be able to learn as many as I can before I die.

I don’t know if I’ll be able to achieve all I wrote here but I’ll do my best. Plus, the things I wrote are pretty simple and realistic, so I should work really hard to accomplish them.

I wish you all an incredible year and I hope all your dreams come true!
