SECHSKIES is one of my favourite K-pop groups. The band debuted in 1997 with six members - Eun Ji-won, Lee Jai-jin, Kim Jae-duck, Kang Sung-hoon, Ko Ji-yong and Jang Su-won – and is considered to be one of the firsts highly successful groups. Their popularity grew steadily until they announced an unexpected disbandment in 2000. The group's goodbye on the twenty of May at the Dream Concert was heart-breaking, and I can't imagine how sad the fans must have been at the time.
This way, it was with great happiness that the news was received that the group would reunite, appearing on the Korean variety show Infinite Challenge in 2016. Later in the same year, YG Entertainment announced that the company had signed contracts with five of the members, in exception of Ko Ji-yong who quit the entertainment industry after the disbandment, and is now an inactive member and businessman (nevertheless, he made an appearance on the episode of the reunion to support his fellow members, and if you want to see him currently, he is a member of the reality-variety show The Return of Superman, with his son Ko Seung-jae providing the viewers lovely and funny father and son moments).
Since they returned as SECHSKIES, Eun Ji-won, Lee Jai-jin, Kim Jae-duck, Kang Sung-hoon, and Jang Su-won were warmly welcomed by the fans and presented us with fantastic music, selling concert tickets in minutes (for example, in their first national concert tour since their reunion, the last two concerts sold out within three minutes) and being recognized with numerous awards (for example, in Busan One Asia Festival they received the Legend Star award, unitedly with YellowKies who were awarded Best Fandom for their support of the group over the past 20 years).
In the current year, 2018, SECHSKIES members were officially recognized as the trademark owners to their group name, being allowed to exercise exclusive rights to the band name. In addition, their film Sechskies Eighteen was released at the beginning of the year, reaching remarkable success. I hope they continue to have such success and that they continue to do what they love the most. Eun Ji-won, Lee Jai-jin, Kim Jae-duck, Kang Sung-hoon and Jang Su-won are very talented, providing us wonderful music and moments (Have I mentioned how funny they are? You should totally check out some interviews with the band, you won’t regret it. All of them have strong personalities, they have moments truly hilarious!).
With this said, I wanted to share with you some of my favourite music of SECHSKIES. To be honest, doing this kind of post is really hard since it’s very difficult to choose just a few songs. However, here is my selection, I hope you enjoy!

To sum up, this first-generation idol group deserves all the recognition that they receive. The members' unique style and captivating personalities stand out and their voices combine so well, it's beautiful to hear. Their songs are a masterpiece that I adore listening regularly!
