Our month in GIFs - November 2017

November came to an end and here's what happened in our lives this month:

Jesika Gomes:
1 – I finished watching While You Were Sleeping. I highly recommend it, it has an interesting storyline and the cast is incredible. I'm sad it came to an end though...

2 – I went bowling for the first time in my life. I’m not going to lie, it was a good experience. However, I’m bad at it but, anyway, tell me something I don’t know… hahaha

3 – I watched Death Parade because of Mariana and I don’t regret. It’s a good anime with an original plot. (I am glad that you have enjoyed it! I knew you would like it! You're welcome ahah - Mariana)

4 – I had 2 presentations at uni. It was stressing but I’m glad that it’s over now.

6 - Last weekend I went to Bournemouth Christmas Market with my family. I can't believe were just a few weeks away from Christmas. Time does fly!

Mariana Nunes:
1. I spent the majority of this month studying more than normal since my exams started.

2. I started watching the K-drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo by Jesika's advice. It’s such a good drama with a different and amazing story, I am loving each and every episode. The characters are so interesting as well. However, Jesika already alerted me to the tragic end, and I am really curious.

3. On 17th of the month, I had the opportunity to visit the Assembly of the Republic to attend a debate on the State budget. Namely, this was within the scope of a unit that I am having this year: Public Finances. It was really interesting, since I had never been in the building, and only had to see debates on TV. Moreover, we had the opportunity to take a guided tour, and the place is majestic and magnificent.

4. I was practically obligated to do one of the things that I hate the most: shopping. Don’t get me wrong, I love having new clothes but there are so many people and with that so much waiting!

5. On the 22nd and 23rd, I participated in the International Congress of Civil Law of the commemoration of the 50 years of the Portuguese Civil Code. I didn’t have the chance to attend all the palaestras due to my exams, but the ones I attend, about the evolution of Contracts, the Civil Liability and the evolution of the Family, were indeed productive and informative.

6. The Congress ended with the Honorary degree (Doutoramento Honoris Causa) of the President of Cabo Verde, Jorge Carlos Fonseca. The ceremony counted on the participation of the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and other political personalities. It was such a good opportunity to be able to see the ceremony live, something different.

Funny story: In the day of the Ceremony, in the morning there were still morning palaestras. I, being me, left home late, basically running to the subway, and of course that I made a mistake in the direction, and entered the wrong subway. As if I was not late enough, when I went to the right place I had to wait 10 minutes, so I finally got to college almost 30 minutes later. I entered the auditorium (full of people!) and, trying to be discreet, started to look for my friends. I did not find them, so I sat in the last row the precise moment when I get a message from them asking me where I was. Since I was already sitting I thought "I don’t care, I'll see them later”. The stupid thing is that at one point I looked to the other side of the queue I was in and saw them looking at me, shaking their heads in disapproval, I just started laughing of my abstraction.

Another thing is that it was raining on that day, and when we were in the subway to return for our homes, my station was the first, so I said goodbye to my friends and left. I had just walked through the door and almost fell. My thought was "Did they see it ?!". Then I started to laugh with the imagination of having actually fallen and they were seeing my fall through the subway window while it resumed its course... Laughing at the imagination, of course, I presume that if I had really fallen I would not find it very funny.

Nb: We do not own any of these GIFs.

  1. Lol that story of you walking into the big auditorium and not being able to find your friends in the same line as you is totally the story of my every day life. Awkward and dysfunctional hahah I do that best. I think that exact scenario has happened to me more than once.
