ALIFEROUS

HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY TO ALIFEROUS!

We can't believe that last year, on this same day, we posted our first three articles: Aliferous, Blogger's Profile and Music is universal.

To begin with, in case you don't know, we chose the date 07/07/2017 to be the one in which we would start to be active in our blog because seven is Jesika's favourite number and represents power and perfection. In addition, since there are three sevens in the date, and the number three is a lucky number in the Chinese tradition, it would give us good luck on this new project in our lives.

Namely, Jesika was the one who had the idea to begin a blog, and our preparations rose months before July: we chose the name of the Blog and of the URL, the theme, the days when each of us would publish... Also, we started to write articles in advance because we wanted to be properly prepared.

It's unreal how time passes in a blink of an eye. This day, one year ago, Jesika and I were so excited to publish the first articles. Nevertheless, of course, that the beginning of this new chapter had to start with a funny situation: as you know, we publish at 1 pm on Thursdays and Fridays. On that Friday we had, or more correctly - we thought we had - scheduled the articles for the right time. We were all enthusiastic, doing the countdown for the first publications, imagining our future lives as famous bloggers, yet at 1 pm nothing happened. We kept refreshing the site, but zero. What had happened? What had we done? Well, yes, we had scheduled the articles, but... we forgot to click on the publish option. It's still hilarious. We laughed a lot at our mistake. Only us. We likewise have a funny story regarding our first comments. Frankly, both of us have ambitious personalities and, sometimes that is good and sometimes not so much. Before we started publishing, we fancied pretty reasonable numbers of views and comments. Nowadays we know that it's a slow journey but what is wrong with dreaming? Further, in the first weeks following the inauguration of Aliferous, we commence realising the harsh reality. We joked saying "And we thought that we would have 100 comments by now!". The funny thing is that we complained that we didn't have comments, but when we received the first two comments in our blog we took days to notice them and, consequently, to answer them. Again: only us.

Leaving the funny stories behind and regarding the more serious aspects of our journey as bloggers, we can say that it's been an enjoyable process. One of our reasons to start Aliferous was to forget about the stress of University. Since we left Scholl both I and Jesika are still the same crazy girls when we talk - sharing funny stories, and laughing at the most stupid jokes - yet we have certainly matured a lot. Aliferous is a reflection of that, especially in our personal articles in which we express how we feel about particular subjects.

Moreover, one year of blogging. What did delight us? What did not please us? Jesika liked to share her knowledge, ideas and opinions. She also appreciates the fact that Aliferous served immensely to vent. On the other hand, the hard part for her was conciliating the blog with University, and lose inspiration to write new articles. I liked to write about topics that I cherish, and the feeling of pride after having finished an article and being able to see it published. The difficult aspect for me was, without a doubt, managing my time between University, studying and finding time to write. Additionally, the lack of inspiration seldom.

Furthermore, we are happy that we are able to write about subjects that we love: sharing experiences and opinions, giving some Travel advice, making reviews on our favourite TV Shows, Animes, K-Dramas, Movies, Books, and talking about our favourite songs and artists.

To sum up, we are extremely proud of our project. Aliferous means "having wings" - for us it's a metaphor that represents our aspiration to reach our goals and dreams. Jesika and I wrote on the first article: "This blog will be a way for these 2 ordinary best friends/sisters that live in different countries to still keep in touch and make sure their friendship stays strong".  Our intentions are the same. We want to expand our knowledge and keep sharing topics that we are passionate about. Hopefully, Aliferous will celebrate many more anniversaries, and we will be here reflecting on our improvements throughout the years!
